Call for Resident Artists The Contemporary Artists Center is located on the campus of the Woodside National Historic Register Site in Troy, NY. Two neo-gothic stone church buildings now house our artist program and welcome artists from all over the U.S. and abroad. The CAC focuses on emerging contemporary artists and accepts applicants who offer quality in their art and encourages diversity of style, medium (2-D, 3-D, 4-D) and concepts. The residency program offers artists the time and support to create new work and fosters an environment that encourages creativity, experimentation, and collaboration. Xeric Foundation Grants

Xeric Foundation Grants: Grants of up to $5,000 are offered to assist comic book creators with some of the costs of self-publishing (physical production and distribution, printing, color separation, solicitation, shipping). Grants are not intended to support an artist/writer fully through the process of self-publishing, but rather to encourage creators to learn from the experience of working toward such a goal. Embracing Our Differences 

Embracing Our Differences invites artists, photographers, professionals, amateurs and students to participate in its 8th annual art exhibit celebrating diversity. National and international submissions are encouraged. 45 artists will be selected for the exhibit. The Embracing Our Differences exhibit will be displayed throughout the months of April and May 2011 along Sarasota’s bayfront. Since 2004, the exhibit has been viewed by more than 850,000 visitors.

The M Literary Residency Program

The M Literary Residency Program: offers two residencies, one in Shanghai, China and one in Pondicherry, India. The residencies are each three months long and candidates should only apply for one. Both writing fellows receive a total of $1,000 to cover living costs. The program is open to writers of fiction, literary non-fiction, or poetry whose residence in India or China would benefit their work. The program is intended to help foster greater cultural and artistic connections across individuals and communities.
